THREE-times world champion John Higgins was given a warm reception when he returned to action on British soil for the first time yesterday since serving a sixmonth ban.

Higgins was caught in an undercover sting apparently agreeing to throw frames, and before play began in his first-round UK Championship match against Stephen Lee in Telford, the Scot conceded he will never shake off the stigma of accusations against him.
