AGE discrimination in the workplace is usually seen as an issue for older people. But a surprising number of younger people say age counts against them when seeking jobs or promotion.

Research this year by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development found that though the problem was worse for people over 40, one in 12 job seekers under 35 had been told that they were too young to be considered.
