LIVERPOOL manager Roy Hodgson has insisted any prospective owner should have funds to build a stadium if the club are to compete for trophies.

Hodgson's view, shared by the club's board, comes amid fears the Royal Bank of Scotland might take over Liverpool in October and sell to a bargain hunter who has no interest in moving the club to a new ground.
