From humble beginnings as Jimmy, the porter in Casualty, Robson Green stars tomorrow night in Beaten, a oneoff drama for the BBC, produced by his own company, Coastal Productions.

The 41-year-old's childhood home was equally as humble. And now the Sixties council terrace in Blyth Close, Dudley, a small mining town outside Newcastle upon Tyne, is set to be demolished and with it will go the graffiti he sprayed on an exterior wall: his nickname 'Beany'. His mother still lives in nearby Burradon where she has a flat above her tanning salon.
