PAUL HOFFMANN'S father, Anthony, is still opening the bowling in grade cricket in Queensland at the ripe old age of 64. His son has years of service to Uddingston left in him but his Scotland days are dwindling - and this week's battle with the Netherlands could be the curtain call.

Hoffmann, 37, will pick up his 118th cap in Aberdeen this week but will miss the next Intercontinental Cup match in Ireland due to work commitments. That leaves only a one-day international against India and the World Twenty20 in South Africa before he retires from international cricket.
