MORE than one million National Health Service workers could see the value of their pay rises slashed following last week's figures showing a steep rise in inflation.
Under the Government's 20-year plan for the service, pay increases should be linked to an inflation rate assumed to run at 2.5 per cent a year. But with the Consumer Prices Index running at 3.1 per cent in the year to March, the NHS pay strategy has been shaken.See the full content of this document
