AN alleged illegal immigrant who served as a Metropolitan Police officer for six years has been arrested on suspicion of bigamy, perjury and passport offences.
Nigerian-born Richard Tella, 42, worked as a constable at Dagenham in Essex from 1997 until his resignation last month. It is understood that during the raid on his Pounds 350,000 home in Tilbury officers seized a forged British passport, a police uniform and several documents. Tella, a father of three, is due to appear before magistrates in Essex on Tuesday charged with two offences of perjury relating to two alleged marriage ceremonies in 1998 and 2000, one offence of bigamy and one offence of possessing a forged passport.See the full content of this document
