Summary
The X Factor ITV1, 7pm The nights have not even started drawing in and the kids are still off school, but, just like Christmas, the talent show titan seems to come round earlier every year. Now back for a sixth series, it's once again time to settle down and watch the latest batch of shrieking hopefuls who, if delusion were an Olympic sport, would be standing on the winners' podium, as well as listen to the sort of hard-luck stories that even tearjerker author Charles Dickens would have thought erred on the side of the overblown.
Hopefully, amid the entertaining clatter, there should be signs of a genuine talent who could hold their own against previous winners Alexandra Burke and, Simon Cowell's golden girl, Leona Lewis. As always, Mr Tell-It-As-It-Is Cowell (top far left) returns to lead the four-headed beast that is the judging panel, with Louis Walsh (top far right), Dannii Minogue (top second from right) and Queen of Hearts Cheryl Cole (top second from left) making up the numbers.See the full content of this document
