Summary
Criminal Justice BBC1, 9pm Bafta's current best Drama Serial went out across five consecutive weeknights last summer, and this week they're repeating the format. That has required award-winning writer Peter Moffat to start from scratch, because one of the features of his first series was that the story conclusively ended, as it followed the journey of an individual (Ben Whishaw, the Royal Television Society's Best Actor) through the criminal justice system and out the other side.
You don't need to have seen series one to enjoy watching this second series - not a copper, lawyer, civil servant nor prisoner reappear - although returning fans should take nothing for granted by comparing; for instance, the fact that the first case turned out to be a near miscarriage of justice.
