AT AROUND 3.30pm on Saturday, March 26, I will, all things being equal, take off on the 900th flight of my life. I first flew only at the age of 15, much later than many of today's children, and like most boys obsessed with statistics, I started keeping a log of my travels; I have maintained it religiously ever since.
That's how I know that, in the years since that memorable school tour to Barcelona in 1978, I have flown on 40 different aircraft operated by 78 airlines to 175 airports in 66 countries. In 2006 alone, I took 103 flights. france is my most visited country - I've been 78 times, though not always by air - while the united States and Spain are tied for second place at 37 times each.See the full content of this document
