Prescott 'Covering Up' the Effects of 24-Hour Drinking

DEPUTY Prime Minister John Prescott has been accused of trying to cover up the damaging effects of 24-hour drinking by ordering councils to stop collecting alcohol-related crime figures.

Mr Prescott originally hailed the decision to begin collating such statistics as an important part of the Government's commitment to tackling alcohol-fuelled antisocial behaviour.
