THE medical card levy to be introduced by the Department of Health next month will force sick people to go through a bureaucratic ordeal to claim back a just a few cents.
On October 1, the department is introducing a 50c levy on medical card holders for each prescription item received from a pharmacy. The levy is capped at EUR 10, or 20 items, a month per family, but those who go over the limit will have to reclaim the money by filling out medical expense relief forms.See the full content of this document
