MORE than seven million parents with dependent children admit they do not have adequate life or critical illness protection. It means that those children face financial hardship should their parents die or become seriously ill.

Worryingly, more than 1.5 million people - 15 per cent of all parents with dependent children - say they have never thought about how their family would cope financially if the worst happened.
