BIRMINGHAM CITY must wait to claim a place in the Premier League after losing at home to Preston.

While Wolves clinched the Championship title with a 1-1 draw at Barnsley, Birmingham let slip a 1-0 lead, with Lee Bowyer sent off. Ross Wallace followed him in the 89th minute when he scored Preston's winner but then took his shirt off to celebrate and was shown a second yellow card.
