I KNOW it is some accolade in this land of government excess and public suffering but I think I have found the meanest and cruellest cutback imposed on vulnerable citizens. This week, people in the care of the State suffered a 12pc cutback. These are people who receive less in a full year than a TD receives for each day the Dail sits.

There are 28,000 people in this country with intellectual disabilities, these differences can range from Down syndrome to schizophrenia and various phobias.
