ANDY ROBINSON takes the support of his squad with him at an interview this week when he hopes to be appointed as permanent successor to England head coach Sir Clive Woodward.

The Rugby Football Union have not advertised the job, as originally expected, so Robinson will hope that he has already done enough to impress the five-man selection committee. Most of his potential rivals, such as Newcastle director of rugby Rob Andrew, a former England team-mate, and Gloucester boss Nigel Melville, were quick to rule themselves out and back Robinson's promotion.
