HOLLYWOOD executives are so convinced that Irish actress Saoirse Ronan can pick up an Oscar that they have delayed the release of her latest film by six months so that it coincides with the 'awards season'. The 15-year-old from Co. Carlow leads a cast that includes two Oscar-winners in the adaptation of Alice Sebold's supernatural novel, The Lovely Bones.

Saoirse missed out on a best supporting actress gong last year for her role in Atonement, another adaptation.
