JOE SCHMIDT is bracing himself for the role of Good Samaritan if any Leinster players are left out of Ireland's World Cup squad.
Gordon D'Arcy, a World Cup omission in 2003, credited then Leinster coach Gary Ella for helping him overcome that setback, while Michael Cheika assisted Luke Fitzgerald and Jamie Heaslip with their 2007 trauma.
