I WAS disgusted to read that Shay Brennan could be handed a seat in the Seanad if he loses in the Dublin South by-election (MoS, May 31).

This just underlines what a cushy number the Seanad is, an old boys' club for failed politicians. And we, the taxpayers, have to fund their hefty salaries and expenses.
