IT'S JUST gone 3pm on a Friday afternoon and Karl Lacey is contemplating an early escape from work. The flag was raised on the 40th anniversary of 'the Donegal Rally' earlier in the day in nearby Milford and he hopes to get out of Letterkenny before mayhem descends.

His work with Ulster Bank means he does the 30-mile journey between Donegal Town and Letterkenny twice a day. It gives him plenty of time to think and, as far as Donegal football is concerned, the thoughts are not as dark as they once were.
