I WOULD like to make some observations from an ordinary lady in her 70s regarding the recession and our pitiful Government. Have they never heard the old saying: 'Look after the pennies and the pounds take care of themselves'? Let's start with possible savings.

First, shut the Seanad. Second, stop the political junkets, the private planes and helicopters. The little guys bear the brunt of that.
