BROOKS Newmark, Conservative MP for Braintree in Essex, has penned an alarming/alarmist paper for the Centre for Policy Studies, warning of a 'hidden debt bombshell' in the public finances. He says public debt could be as high as Pounds 2.2 trillion and not Pounds 1.4 trillion.
