Traditionalists love the vernacular design but the Prince of Waless model village of Poundbury has been rubbished by just as many who find the scheme outside Dorchester, Dorset, sickly sweet and Disneyesque.

Prince Charles is obviously undeterred by the criticisms because he has begun building a second, more ambitious Poundbury-style development.
