Summary
Why do characters keep returning to people who let them down? What makes them do it? Fear of being alone? Laziness? Stupidity? Whatever the reason, we are left staring at the screen in disbelief, crying 'Nooooooooo!' every time we see someone walk straight back into a situation that made them miserable the first time round.
