Summary
As The Arctic Monkeys were in 2005, so The Kooks are this year's slightly baffling runaway success. Not that there's any reason they should not have done well; they're tuneful and engaging enough. Just that it's hard to pinpoint why they, rather than any other band, should have been clasped so firmly to the public bosom, along with a million copies of their debut album, Inside In/Inside Out.
