MOTHERWELL manager Mark McGhee had sympathy for Hibs following referee Charlie Richmond's controversial decision to red card Filipe Morais for a first-half challenge on home defender Jim Paterson.

But McGhee also took the official to task for awarding Hibs a first-half penalty when Steven Fletcher went down following a challenge by goalkeeper Graeme Smith, which Fletcher converted to put the previously unbeaten visitors ahead.
