DESPITE becoming the greatest Paralympian of all time, it was only last autumn that Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, who competes for the final time today after the most glittering career, actually accepted that she had achieved something in her sport.
Even though Dame Tanni, now 37, has competed in five Paralympics, winning 16 medals, including 11 golds, from the 100 metres to the marathon as well as six world titles and six London Marathons, she admitted last night she had never been satisfied until September when she decided that the Paralympic World Cup, which finishes today with the athletics at the Manchester Regional Arena, would be her last competition.See the full content of this document
