IT'S now just over a year since the Irish Daily Mail revealed, thanks to a whistleblower, that 1,000 staff in Allied Irish Banks owe their employer over EUR 3bn in loans they were recklessly encouraged to take out during the Celtic Tiger days. One of the bailed-out bank's junior employees who is on a salary of EUR 35,000 has loans of over EUR 500,000.
The strength of this scoop was not in the new information involved - there is not much that could really shock us about bankers' behaviour any more - but in the fact that the crucial details were leaked from within the bank.See the full content of this document
