Summary
UNTIL Friday I had never in my life knowingly, let alone deliberately, heard Michael Jackson sing. I know of him only as the victim of plastic surgery and excessive fame.
I am sorry for his bereaved family but I do not think his death merited one fiftieth part of the coverage it was given. I am sure there are many millions like me, who woke on Friday amid a wave of fake grief they did not share or understand.
