Summary
OCTOBER'S inflation figures, due on Tuesday, will be studied for signs that the worst is over in rises in the cost of living. In the year to September the Consumer Prices Index rose 5.2 per cent, up from a 4.5 per cent rise in the year to August, pushed up in large part by higher electricity and gas prices.
The broader Retail Prices Index increased 5.6 per cent in the year to September, up from a 5.2 per cent increase in the year to August.See the full content of this document
