Summary
THE March producer price index, covering the price of goods leaving factories and industry's fuel and raw material costs, is due on Friday and will be watched for signs of where inflation may be heading.
In the year to February, factory-gate prices rose 4.1 per cent, up from 3.8 per cent in the year to January, partly as a result of higher alcohol and chemicals prices. In the year to February, lower fuel prices helped cut the rise in industry's input costs to 6.9 per cent, from 7.7 per cent in the year to January.See the full content of this document
