I'm learning slowly that when you try to please everybody, you end up not knowing what you want yourself. I'm not the sort of person who likes to make waves, but as I've got older I've realised that you can't do everything that is asked of you. Far better to be clear about what you stand for. It is about being honest, rather than stubborn. Too often, women who voice their opinions are portrayed as bossy and overbearing, whereas men who stick to their guns are deemed strong and decisive. I'd like to see similar respect for women.
