TWO years ago Graham Thorpe thought he would never play for England again. Now after the best cricketing year of his life, he is determined to 'drain the juice' out of every game on what he admits could be his last tour.

With his marriage in the balance, Thorpe had already returned home early from England's tour of India in 2001. He reclaimed his place in the side by the following winter but, after a victory over India at Lord's to which he contributed just five runs in two innings, he quit, saying he was 'worn down' and 'burnt out' by events off the field.
