Two years ago I had osteoporosis. And now I haven't, at least for the short term. Last July, a bone scan showed that my bone density has improved enough in four years of treatment for my consultant to take me off a bisphosonate drug. I was ecstatic.

I had faithfully taken the pills as prescribed but had also done everything else I could possibly do to strengthen my bones. I'm not sure exactly what worked and what did not, but I do believe that exercise and diet have played a part.
