It is fitting that Trude Mostue, the blonde Norwegian vet who burst on to our television screens nearly two decades ago as a gauche student trying to inject a fluffy grey kitten, bought her Pounds 1million manor house with animal welfare in mind.

Her life now is almost unrecognisable from her student days at Bristol University School of Veterinary Science, filmed for BBC1's Vet School. Such was its success that it spawned several follow-on series all starring Trude from Vets In Practice to Vets In The Wild and Vets In The Country.
