Young women are being passed over for jobs because many bosses fear that they might start a family and disrupt the business. Small firm owners in particular are worried about Government plans to extend paid maternity leave and permit men to take some of their partner's allowance.
A third of male bosses and a quarter of female business owners say that plans to allow new mothers to transfer some of their maternity leave to fathers should be scrapped.
