Cheap video cameras and PC editing suites have sparked a new craze for making home-made homages and sequels to Hollywood films. Hundreds of these amateur movies are on the web, and they range from the impressive to the hilarious.

One of the best out there at the moment is Freddy vs Ghostbusters, which spoofs last year's Hollywood hit Freddy vs Jason. As the site (www.braxtanfilm.com/fvgb.html), says, 'It's the man of your dreams versus the men with the proton beams!' The film is 35 minutes long, and takes a few minutes to download via a broadband connection. It was filmed on digital video by a group of Canadian youngsters and edited on a home PC.
