Summary
by Aravind Adiga Atlantic e10 . . . ..
Balram Halwai, the narrator of Adiga's 2008 Man Booker prize- winning novel, is an Indian peasant whose quick wits are all that stand between him and poverty. Working as a chauffeur, he sees the arrogance, corruption and greed of his social superiors, and when he gets the chance to better himself he seizes it with ruthless calculation. The White Tiger is sharply observed and fuelled by real anger at the cruel divides in Indian society. Adiga writes with terrific energy and my only criticism is that he has a tendency to bang repeatedly on the same note.See the full content of this document
