THAT celebrated Burnley fan Alastair Campbell once said when working at No10 Downing Street that major news stories had an 11- day shelf life before the media became bored and moved on. But there is one story in football, which enveloped his club last week, that is defying his theory. And the game had better take heed before some bad old days return.
In one sense, Campbell is right. What, for example, has happened since a member of the crowd at Aston Villa threw a coin at Harry Redknapp a month ago, missing the then Portsmouth manager and hitting an assistant referee?
