D.B.writes: A company called Etoo advertised it could help sell my unwanted timeshare, but when I responded we were persuaded to go to Portugal and subjected to a hard sell that ended with us paying for membership of a travel scheme called Club Class Concierge. We were then contacted by two other firms, which said they could sell the Club Class membership, but both wanted money upfront. We paid, but then there was silence. Now Client Mediation Services has phoned, saying it can retrieve all our money, which is Pounds 18,500. But this firm wants ten per cent upfront, and another eight per cent when the case is settled. I was told it is part of Corn Wallace & Co Limited of Rugby, Warwickshire, registered with the Ministry of Justice. I feel I have been conned already, so I need to know if this firm is trustworthy.
CORN Wallace is new so it has no record to speak of. It is licensed by the Ministry of Justice as a claims management company and by the Office of Fair Trading as a credit broker and debt counsellor. But there are certainly reasons to be worried.See the full content of this document
