AS Michael Schumacher chases down an eighth world title before heading for the Formula One exit, the most powerful man in the sport claimed that the German had not done enough to be hailed as the greatest driver ever.
Schumacher may have 90 F1 victories to his credit - 39 more than nearest rival Alain Prost - going into this morning's Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, but Bernie Ecclestone said: 'It's a little difficult for me to call Michael the greatest of all time. He'd have to share that with others, like Prost and Ayrton Senna.' Ecclestone says Schumacher, now 37 and just two points behind championshipleader Fernando Alonso before this morning's race, has been competing on an uneven playing field from the moment 15 years ago when he negotiated through the night on the German's behalf as the then rookie driver moved between two mid-grid teams, Jordan and Benetton, with whom he won his first two world titles.See the full content of this document
