Change is afoot at Question Time. Some in the BBC hierarchy are apparently very keen on the idea of replacing host David Dimbleby, who's been in the hot-seat since 1994, with a woman. Newsnight presenter Emily Maitlis is being tipped for the job - were she to be successful, Maitlis would become the first woman to take charge of the programme in its 30-year history.
The contract to make Question Time, currently held by production company Mentorn, ends in a year - coincidentally, that is the latest time the next General Election could be held and when Dimbleby is expected to scale down his activities.See the full content of this document
